The United States is experiencing a severe workforce shortage crisis. Today there are not enough skilled technical workers to meet the demands of our changing economy. The shortage of skilled workers is particularly problematic when you examine the low numbers of skilled women in certain science and math fields.
Women make up 50% of the population, but they are not well represented in jobs requiring high level math and science skills. By supporting the Expanding Your Horizons Network, your company helps ensure a diverse, and technically competent workforce. You can help increase the number of women in underrepresented science and math careers and help ensure that our workforce is ready to meet 21 century challenges.
A commitment to EYH will lead to a big future payoff for your corporation. Your company can be a leader and help support our on-going efforts. With your generous financial support we can:
- Expand our program from a one-day event to a multi-session program. We are already trying this in targeted cities and the response by the students has been overwhelming. The young women are interested in and want to attend more female focused events. Won't you help us, help them?
- Hold more conferences in more places. Currently some sites have many conferences, while others have none. You can help us change this.
There is no minimum contribution to the Network to become a corporate sponsor. However, we are actively recruiting sponsors who wish to give donations of $5,000 and above.
We also accept in-kind equipment donations. We are also looking to increase our corporate volunteer pool. We need volunteers to lead and develop hands-on activities for our conferences and volunteer at our events.

Seagate Partnership Program
Seagate delivers advanced digital storage solutions to meet the needs of today's consumers and tomorrow's applications. The EYH Network is involved in a special partnership with this amazing corporation. Our partnership with Seagate is now in its third year and started when Bill Watkins, Seagate's CEO, challenged his senior management team to cultivate their leadership and vision by building a meaningful, ongoing partnership with a non-profit organization addressing an important community issue. After intensive interviewing, the Network was one of 4 agencies selected. Further supporting the commitment made by each executive to each organization, Seagate made a financial contribution ranging from $25,000 - $300,000 to each organization.
The Network was assigned Dave Wickersham, Seagate President and Chief Operating Officer. Wickersham states, since its inception in 1976.gWomen continue to be underrepresented in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math, and getting young girls involved in the sciences earlier enables them to gain the confidence and enthusiasm to explore future career opportunities. Expanding Your Horizons conferences provide an excellent entry into the world of science and allow young women the opportunity to engage in these fascinating fields.h
