The Expanding Your Horizons Network was recently asked to give a presentation to the Non-Government Committee on the Status of Women in New York City, in partnership with UN Women. Stacey Roberts-Ohr, Executive Director, addressed a crowd of 125 participants at the United Nations on January 13, 2011.

The roundtable discussion was entitled, "Access and participation of women and girls to education, training, science and technology, including for the promotion of womens' equal access to full employment and decent work". Opening remarks were provided by Vivian Pender, Chair of the Committee on the Status of Women.

Ms. Roberts-Ohr addressed the status of women in STEM worldwide and talked about why programs like EYH are so essential. She also spoke about why young women must hear how important it is to pursue a rewarding and well paying career path in order to acheive economic self-sufficiency.

After the presentation, Ms. Roberts-Ohr, EYH Network Board President, Rachel Sheinbein, and Board member and EYH/N Marketing Chair, Susan Brown, were interviewed on United Nations Radio.
